Waiting List
Wait list placement depends on completion of specific forms and assessments that determine eligibility for related services. A Service and Support Administrator (SSA), or the Intake and Eligibility SSA will assist individuals and families to complete necessary forms and assessments. When placed on a waiting list, individulas and families or guardians will be given a list of alternative services which may be of help while waiting for services.
Some services, such as Medicaid waivers, require submission of additional paperwork to Geauga County Job and Family Services. The wait list coordinator or the SSA assists in application to all lists, including Medicaid waivers. Once on any list, contact to the individual is made by the county board at least annually to insure appropriateness, accuracy of request, and to inform those waiting for services of any changes in the county board policies or procedures. Specific statute and rules guide movement on wait lists, including provisions for granting priority status and responding to emergency situations.
