Supported Employment

A supported employment enclave is located at the Dillen Products facility on 84880 Bonner Drive, Middlefield, Ohio

The enclave employs 30 individuals with disabilities and there are three (3) Geauga County Board of MRDD employees tp provide oversight to the enclave.

The supported employment enclave's primary duties involve assembling and completion of Dillen Products merchandise.

The work completed includes assembling and packaging flower pots.  Assembling the flower pots consists of placing a bar code and price sticker on the pots, assembling the hanger to the pot and then stacking the pots in a pre-determined amount.  Once the pots have been stacked, cardboard boxes are assembled and the flower pots are placed in the cardboard boxes.  The boxes are then sealed and placed on a skid.  Once on the skid, a shipping label is adhered to the box and the skid of boxes is shrink wrapped for shipment.

Another job completed at the Dillen facility is flower trays.  Flower trays with between 12 - 48 individual compartments have fertilizer and flower seed pellets placed in the compartment.  Informational fliers are placed in the flower tray and the flower trays are individually shrink wrapped for shipment.

The individuals with disabilities also have the opportunity to wire and assemble oil skimmer motors.  Assembling the oil skimmer motors is a complex job with multiple steps.  the motors are wired for both American and European wiring.  Once the motors are assembled they are tested to assure that they are in proper working condition.
