Metzenbaum Sheltered Industries, Inc., offers diverse subcontracting services to local businesses and industries. A small example of the work done at MSI includes:

 

Packaging - such as blister packaging, heat sealing

Bagging and boxing

Small assembly

Mailing - including electronic weight counting

Production of hardware kits

Presorting and packaging parts to be used in assembly or repair of an item

 

MSI contracts with local and national companies such as:

 

Cleveland Cavaliers - Repackaged Zydrunas IIgauskas bobble head dolls in 2005; In 2008 repackaged Cleveland Cavaliers backpacks to be distributed to local school districts that participated in a reading literacy.

 

Tomco Metal Fabricating has contracted with MSI to assemble flag clamps.  The flag clamps will be used to display the flag that was flown during the war of 1812 over Fort McHenry.  This is when the Star Spangled Banner was written.  A special flag table is being built by Tomco Metal Fabricating for the flag display.  Once the flag and clamps are completed the flag will be on display at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C.  The table alone is being built at a cost of $1.25 million dollars.

 

Par 1 a promotional company who specializes in making golfing products.

 

Coyne Industries contracts with MSI to sort and inspect towels and gloves used on new cars made at the Honda plant.

 

Abanaki Motors uses MSI employees to wire and assemble various oil skimmers.  The oil skimmers are wired for both American and European electrical systems.
